Biography

Dr. Simona Drukteinienė is a partner at WALLESS and head of the litigation and arbitration practice group in Lithuania. She has over 20 years of professional experience advising and representing clients in complex commercial disputes, international arbitration, and high-value cross-border litigation.

Her core areas of practice include civil and commercial litigation, commercial arbitration, asset recovery, fraud-related disputes, damages issues, environmental liability, and banking litigation. Dr. Drukteinienė regularly represents both private and public sector clients, including financial institutions, multinational corporations, and state authorities, in high-stakes disputes involving multi-jurisdictional elements.

She is widely recognised for her expertise in complex dispute resolution strategies, particularly in cases involving asset tracing, enforcement of judgments across jurisdictions, and coordination of parallel proceedings in different legal systems. Her recent experience includes leading roles in complex cross-border enforcement proceedings, as well as landmark environmental and fraud-related cases.

Dr. Drukteinienė is a member of the Panel of Arbitrators of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes and the Permanent Court of Arbitration, both appointments made by the Government of Lithuania. She is also a recommended arbitrator at the Vilnius Court of Commercial Arbitration.

In addition to her legal practice, she is a Professor at Mykolas Romeris University, where she has been actively engaged in academic work for over 20 years. Her research focuses on civil liability, state liability, and investment law. She is the author and co-author of numerous publications, including contributions to international legal encyclopaedias and comparative law studies.

Dr. Drukteinienė holds a PhD in Law from Mykolas Romeris University. She is a fellow of the European Centre of Tort and Insurance Law, Vienna, Austria, and actively contributes to international legal scholarship and judicial training.
